Metsäkonepalvelu Oy is an Finnish forestry contracting company. Our main activities are timber harvesting (by cut to lenght- method) and forest soil cultivation.

Company was founded 1970 and company headquarter is in Hämeenlinna, Finland (100 km up north from Helsinki). Besides Finland, we also have actitivity in Sweden, managed by our subsdiary MKP Dunberg Ab.

Annual volume of business is about 13 million euros (estimate for 2012). Annual amount of timber harvesting is over 1,3 million cubic meters of wood.

Company form is private LTD, managed by the board. Chairman of the board is mr. Mikko Rysä. Daily operations are managed by CEO Timo Tolppa (Metsäkonepalvelu Oy) and MD Håkan Dunberg (MKP Dunberg in Sweden).

Our clients are mainly big forestry companys.

Our equipment contain more then 50 forest machines. Machinery contain machines from all the main manufacturers on the market; Deere, Ponsse and Komatsu (also 1 Rottne- forwarder and 1 EcoLog- harvester).

We have different kind of machines for different type of cuttings; heavyweight harvesters and forwarders are used for regeneration cuttings and late thinnings. Mid-sized harvesters and forwarders are mainly used for different kind of thinnings. Most of the mid-sized machines are also fit up for energywood harvesting (multi-stemming system in harvesters, crane scales in forwardes.

For cultivation we have Bräcke- mounder, moved by Timberjack- forwarder and tracked Doosan Daewoo- digger which is mainly used for stump pulling.

We have more then 90 employees. Our staff is skilled and experienced. Most of the employees works as a forest machine operator. For the machine maintenance we have few mechanics and own repair shops in Hämeenlinna, Jämsänkoski (Finland) and Eksjö (Sweden).

Accounting and invoicing are managed by office manager and production secretary.

Operational managers take care supervision of fieldwork, production control and customer relationship.

We have more then 40 years of experience for timber harvesting. From the 1970, when company was founded, timber harvesting has advanced in breathtaken tempo. All the way from the beginning of the machine based cutting, company has been in the front row for developing this area of business in Finland. Our vision is to be there also in the future.

Over the years company has grown for the international player in the business, who has two legs firmly on the ground in Finland and in Sweden. Growth for present position is a summary of hard work, financial skills and open-minded envision. Main resource for the company has allways been skilled and involved staff.
